The machine can treat all types of waste, since they are tested and adjusted according to the necessity and the waste behavior, paying special attention to the 100%-liquid wastes, which will be treated in another reactor that is more appropriate for treatment of liquids.
As there is virtually no atmospheric air in the process, there is no formation of cancerous molecules such as dioxins and furans, which need oxygen to be formed. Besides, the gases to be treated (proportionally in a small quantity) suffer a treatment process that prevents the synthesis of harmful molecules such as dioxins and furans. Regarding ash formation, it is avoided due to the high temperature levels of the work process. Thus, there is no toxic by-product, differently from what happens in the incineration process. What does happen is the transformation of particulate residuals (like ash) in iron or ceramic matrices, not being necessary the use of other disposal methods.
This is a waste dry-distillation process, with absence of air and without waste combustion, which allows the extreme reduction of the quantity of exhausted gases, when compared to conventional processes.
The data about gases emission will only be issued after the tests with each type of waste, when the client will receive a report showing that the whole process obeys the current standards and laws.
Initially, this process has an organic-waste mass reduction of 10:1 and volume reduction of 100:1 to 200:1, according to the category of the waste processed. However, the efficiency of the machine with each type of waste is indeed evident after the preliminary tests, when all the questions will be answered through adjustments for increase of efficiency.
Yes. Using a proper reactor for each type of waste, treating solids and liquids individually, is the most suitable, safe, and efficient way to work. For quantities of liquid equivalent to less than 10% of the treatment total volume, it is possible to blend solids and liquids, not being necessary another reactor.
The process starts after 4 to 5 minutes after the machine starts. The by-product drainage to the disposal compartment happens after 15 to 20 minutes. For 2 ton/day machine, the capacity is 100 kg/h. For 4 ton/day machine, the capacity is 200 kg/h, and for 10 ton/day machine, the capacity is 500 kg/h.
Hospital waste must be stored in accordance with the standards from the National Health Surveillance Agency.
From 15 to 20 years, but this period can be extended according to the preventive maintenances and accessories replacement.
- Energy consumption for 2-ton machine: 40 kW/h or 960 kW/day.
- Start time: 4 to 5 minutes.
- Melting down of the first waste samples: 15 to 20 minutes.
- Stop time: At the moment of the shutdown, if in manual mode. In automatic mode, the machine finishes its process after the waste depletion.
UTR Vorax, at this moment, does not cogenerate energy, but this is a very attractive possibility that is being studied, considering the minimum machine capacity of 20 tons/day.
The machine does not run on 110V. It is necessary just a high-voltage 380V three-phase receptacle.
Under no circumstances can the machine process:
• Liquids (100%);
• Explosive material;
• Pure sand;
• Metals with melt-down point above 1600°.
The machine is in its final licensing process with CETESB.
The matrix obtained from the processing result has the same characteristics of the gravel (an inert matrix). The transport can be done with the company’s truck or, in case of a smaller quantity, small utility vehicles can help the logistic process. The storage can be done according to the necessity, but the matrix can be kept in boxes, drums, bags.
The value for the waste processing is the cost of a machine operator plus the cost of the electric power consumed by the machine, being 220 kW/h or 5280 kW/day for the 10-ton/day machine and 40 kW/h or 960 kW/day for the 2-ton/day machine.
The resulting material can be used as raw material for the production of other goods. If you get an iron matrix, the material can be sold to the metal industry. If you get a ceramic matrix with the same properties of the gravel, this matrix can be sold to construction-industry companies for uses in loads of asphalt, concrete blocks, paving blocks, covering of tracks, sidewalks, roads.
The 2-ton machine is a single piece, being transported all at once. Bigger machines are also transported all at once and assembled in modules for safety and logistic reasons.
It is not necessary to separate the waste if they are named in the allowed-material list and packed or received in accordance with the feeder maximum acceptable sizes.

Just the equipment. Costs with feeding and collection system will be quoted separately, as they depend on the waste that will be treated.
Just one operator per shift, with a high-school degree or technician degree in any field, is enough for the process, as - after the start - the work is done automatically, unless the feeding process needs monitoring.
After the warranty period, every maintenance will be under the sole responsibility of the highly-specialized team from Solum Ambiental, and it will be done in the machine’s installation and operation site. The maintenance costs vary according to the machine capacity and the parts to be replaced will be quoted separately, soon after one year of contract.
It is interesting to schedule a visit so that you can see the machine in operation. In this visit, the technicians in charge of Solum Ambiental will be present and be able to answer any questions you may have about the waste-treatment process.
For both the technology and technical matters of the machine, there will be a specialized Solum Ambiental team to provide the proper pre-defined maintenances. For cases that are not in the schedule, there will be two channels for the opening of tickets aimed at problems correction: website and 0800 phone number.
The training program is simple. 8 hours of training are sufficient for operators and people in charge of the machine to be able to operate it, identify its problems, and open the tickets. The training is practical and next to the machine. The topics discussed are:

• Identification of the main technical problems;
• Resolution of low-complexity problems;

The machine has 1-year warranty, with all maintenances and parts included. In the following years, the maintenances are included, but the parts will be quoted separately. If the parts are replaced as scheduled, the service life of the machine can be extended indefinitely. All the parts and accessories can be replaced.
There is insurance against electrical breakdown and fire.
The parts replacement will be done during the maintenances or through the opening of a ticket, via website or 0800 phone number. The machine has a 1-year warranty from the moment of the installation, and the parts are included. From the 2nd year on, the parts necessary for replacement will be quoted separately and will be replaced upon the client’s approval.
There is no possibility of anticipating the machine delivery deadline. For all the machines, the minimum period is of 120 to 180 days in the initial phase.
There are 3 models: 2 tons a day, 4 tons a day, and 10 tons a day. If necessary, new machines with higher capacity can be developed, depending on the daily waste demand.
The client is responsible for the physical installations, a proper place for implementation, a level floor and a high-voltage three-phase receptacle. Solum Ambiental will install the machine in the place indicated by the client.
Solum Ambiental will provide all the necessary support, both in the technical part and in the management of the solid wastes, through consultancies hired separately. If the client notices that it is necessary to have a consultancy to structure the solid-waste management process, we are able to help you.
Yes. There is a 2-ton/day machine working for demonstration and tests done by the environmental-control agencies (CETESB, in São Paulo). It has already been visited by approximately 120 people from 40 companies. At the current stage, we are testing these companies’ wastes to issue technical reports that support the proclaimed results.
The machine can be financed through BNDES and other banks.
